Any one of these means your site is compromised
You do not need to know which infection it is. If you recognize even one of these, the site needs cleaning — and every day it stays up, the damage compounds.
“This site may be hacked” in Google
A grey warning under your listing in the search results. Google has detected injected content and is telling every searcher before they click.
A full red browser warning
“Deceptive site ahead” or “The site ahead contains malware.” You are on Google Safe Browsing’s blocklist, which Chrome, Safari and Firefox all read from.
Your site redirects somewhere else
Visitors — often only on mobile, or only from search — get bounced to spam, a fake prize page, or an app store listing.
Pharma or casino pages in your search results
Hundreds of pages you never wrote, indexed under your domain. Classic SEO spam injection, and it is quietly destroying your rankings.
Your host suspended the account
An email about “malicious activity” or “resource abuse”, and the site is offline until you prove it is clean.
Admin users you did not create
Unfamiliar accounts with administrator rights, a changed admin password, or you have been locked out of wp-admin entirely.
The site is defaced
Your homepage replaced with someone else’s message, logo or political banner.
Customers say your emails are spam
A compromised site sends bulk mail from your domain. Your sending reputation goes with it, and legitimate invoices stop arriving.
Not sure which it is? You do not have to be — working that out is the first thing we do.
Clean my siteThe website is the cheap part of getting hacked
Most of the cost lands somewhere else, and it keeps accruing for as long as the infection is live and indexed.
Your search rankings
Google de-indexes hacked pages and demotes the domain. Positions built over years can take months to recover after cleanup — and the spam pages keep accruing damage every day they stay indexed.
Your reputation
A red malware interstitial is the single loudest trust signal on the internet, and it is pointed at you. Customers who see it rarely come back to check whether you fixed it.
Your email deliverability
A compromised site is used to send spam, and your domain lands on mail blocklists. Quotes, invoices and password resets stop reaching customers — often long after the site itself is clean.
Your customer data
If the site takes payments or holds accounts, a compromise is a data-exposure question with disclosure obligations attached — not just a website problem.
Four steps, and you keep everything
No migration, no rebuild, no starting again. We work on your existing hosting and hand it back clean.
We take a forensic copy
Before touching anything, we snapshot the site exactly as it is. Evidence is preserved, and nothing we do can make your situation worse than it already is.
We find everything, not just the symptom
Core, themes, plugins, uploads, the database and the server-level files. Injected code, backdoors, rogue admin accounts and scheduled tasks that quietly reinstall the payload.
We remove it and close the door
Malicious code stripped, backdoors killed, credentials rotated, and the entry point patched — because a clean site with an open door is reinfected within days.
We get you off the blocklists
Google Safe Browsing review, Search Console reconsideration where needed, and the host lifted. Being clean and being trusted again are two separate jobs.
The cleanup, plus the month after it
We clean the site as part of putting it on the Secure plan. You get the removal and the protection through the weeks that follow — which matters, because a freshly cleaned site is a known-soft target and reinfection is what happens to sites that get handed back unwatched.

Secure is the fix. Bigger sites can go further
Secure covers the cleanup and keeps it clean. If you run a store, take payments, or cannot afford an hour of downtime, the tiers above add speed work, penetration testing and tighter backups.

What people ask when their site is down
How fast can you start?
Place the order and it lands with us immediately — that is why checkout is the fastest route in, rather than the phone. Priority onboarding is included by default on this page, which puts you at the front of the queue for a same-day start. We contact you to arrange access, and that call is where the job begins. How long the cleanup itself takes then depends on how deep the infection goes and how quickly we can get into your hosting; we will tell you what we are finding as we go rather than leave you guessing, and if your situation needs more than a standard cleanup we will say so before we start.
Will I lose my site or my content?
No. The first thing we do is take a full forensic copy of the site exactly as it is, before touching anything. Cleaning removes injected code, not your pages, posts, products or customers. If something has already been destroyed by the attacker, that snapshot is also what we use to work out what was there.
Do you guarantee you will get it all?
We remove what we find, close the entry point, and give you a written report of exactly what was on the site and what we did about it. Anyone promising a blanket guarantee on an emergency cleanup before they have seen the site is guessing. Get the specific terms confirmed with us on the call — we would rather be precise than reassuring.
Can I cancel once the site is clean?
Yes. There is no minimum term and no cancellation fee — cancel in the Portal and the plan stops at the end of the month you have paid for. There is also a 30-day money-back guarantee. We would rather tell you that plainly than have you find it out later: you are buying a cleanup with a month of cover attached, not signing a contract while your site is down.
What if the malware comes back?
Reinfection almost always means the entry point was never closed, or the vulnerable plugin that let them in is still sitting there unpatched. Closing that door is part of the cleanup, and keeping it closed is what the plan does — weekly patching, hardening and monitoring. This is the whole reason the cleanup comes with a month of cover rather than being handed back on its own.
My host suspended my account. Can you still help?
Yes, and it is common. Hosts usually leave you enough access to clean the site even when it is offline to the public, and lifting the suspension is part of the job — hosts want a clean site and a summary of what was fixed, which is what the written report is for.
Do you get rid of the Google warning too?
Yes. Removing the malware and getting your domain trusted again are two separate jobs, and the second one is the one people forget. We submit the Safe Browsing review and the Search Console reconsideration request. Google controls the timing of the review itself, but you will not be doing that paperwork alone.
I am not on a maintenance plan. Is that a problem?
Not at all — most people who need this are not on one. Starting the Secure plan is how you buy the cleanup: "cleanup of malware already on the site" is a line item on the plan from Secure up, so an existing infection is covered rather than quoted separately. The plan then keeps it patched and monitored afterwards, and you are not signing up to anything you cannot leave — see the next answer.
Would a plan have prevented this?
Usually, yes. Outdated plugins are the most common way into a WordPress site, and the gap between a patch being published and applied to your site is the window attackers work in. Weekly patching, firewall and login protection, hardening and monitoring close most of that window — which is what the Secure plan and above are for.
Question not here? Call (866) CLARKE6 during the day, or start the cleanup and tell us what you are seeing.
Every day it stays up, it costs more
Rankings, reputation and deliverability keep eroding while the infection is live and indexed. $350 today with the cleanup included, then $150/month, and we start as soon as we have access.
