You own systems, not tickets
You will have your own portfolio of client estates — servers, cloud, WordPress — and you will know them properly. Not a queue of tickets from systems you have never seen, and no handing something on at 5pm because it stopped being your problem.
The scope is as broad as you are
A small team means nobody hands you a script and a narrow lane. In a month you might rebuild a mail flow, sit in on a client's roadmap call and automate something that has been wasting an hour a week since before you arrived.
You talk to the people you are helping
You are not behind an account manager. Clients know who keeps their systems running, and the trust that comes from that is most of what makes this work satisfying rather than thankless.
You will shape how this grows
These are among the first hires on this team. The runbooks, the standards and the way we do things are not fixed yet, and the people who arrive now are the ones who decide them.
We fix causes, not symptoms
When the same figure was wrong on six pages we did not correct six pages. You will be given the time to fix the thing underneath, which is a promise about your working week as much as about engineering.
We say what we can back
We have walked back our own marketing when it outran what we could deliver. You will never be asked to support a promise somebody made without asking you first.

These are W-2 employee roles, not contract positions. You must already be authorised to work in the United States — we are not able to sponsor visas.
How we hire
We aim to go from application to decision within two to three weeks. You will hear where you stand at every stage, including if the answer is no.

Introductory call — 30 minutes
The role, what you are looking for, and the compensation range confirmed at the start rather than at the end.

Technical conversation — 60 minutes
Real scenarios drawn from our actual client work. No whiteboard algorithms and no puzzles.

Practical assessment — 60 to 90 minutes
A scenario close to the day-to-day, done in your own time rather than watched over a call. We are interested in how you reason about it, and we talk it through together afterwards.

Final conversation, then an offer
A closing conversation with the leadership team, two references, and a written offer setting out the full terms.
The assessment is scoped to fit its ninety minutes and is never live client work. Nothing here is real work dressed up as an exercise.

The Pioneer Building, Downtown Brooklyn
We are on the second floor of the Pioneer Building, a landmarked brick building between Fulton Street and Lafayette Avenue. It went up in 1909 for manufacturing and was rebuilt inside as modern offices, which is why the room has ten-foot arched windows and everything behind them is new.
These are office-based roles in Downtown Brooklyn. If you occasionally need to work from home, raise it — it is a conversation rather than a policy.

Several bus routes run along Flatbush Avenue and Fulton Street, and the LIRR at Atlantic Terminal puts Long Island within reach without changing in Manhattan. Walk times are approximate.
