n8n consulting, builds and hosting

  • We support it
  • We build with it

n8n is the automation platform worth reaching for when the per-task pricing stops making sense, or when the data moving through a workflow should not sit on somebody else’s server. We build the workflows, and we run the thing they run on.

The relationship

How we work with n8n

  • Support

    We support it

We take over n8n instances somebody else set up, work out what is still running, and put monitoring and version control around workflows that had neither.

  • Build

    We build with it

We design and build the workflows, including the awkward parts an off-the-shelf template will not cover — error branches, retries that give up, and the exceptions that only appear at real volume.

n8n problems we fix

You don’t need to know the technical name for it. Tell us what’s happening, and we’ll work out what needs attention.

  1. “Per-task automation pricing has started to hurt as volume grows.”

This is the usual reason people reach n8n. We work out what the move actually costs to run, rebuild the workflows, and keep the old ones live until the new ones have proved themselves.

  2. “The data in a workflow should not leave your own infrastructure.”

Self-hosted n8n keeps it on a server you control. We install it, secure it, back it up and patch it — on infrastructure we already manage for you, or on new infrastructure we set up.

  3. “A workflow stopped and nobody noticed for a fortnight.”

Silent failure is the characteristic n8n problem, because nothing is watching by default. We add error workflows, alerting and monitoring so a stoppage reaches a person the same day.

  4. “An upgrade broke workflows that had been running fine.”

We pin versions, test upgrades somewhere that is not production, and keep the instance current deliberately rather than whenever a container happens to restart.

  5. “There is no node for the system you need to talk to.”

Most of the interesting work is here. We write custom nodes and HTTP-request steps against APIs n8n has never heard of, including internal systems with no public documentation.

  6. “Somebody built it, left, and nobody knows how it works.”

We read what is there, document what each workflow does and what it touches, and tell you plainly which ones are worth keeping.

Questions we get

n8n, answered plainly

Should we self-host n8n or use n8n Cloud?

Self-host when the data moving through workflows should not sit on a third party’s servers, or when the volume makes hosted pricing painful. Use the Cloud when neither is true and you would rather it not be your problem. We will tell you which one your situation calls for, and we are equally happy to run either — self-hosting is only an advantage if somebody is actually looking after the server.

Can you host it on the server you already manage for us?

Usually, yes, and it is often the sensible answer: the instance sits on infrastructure the same team already patches, monitors and backs up, with no new vendor and no handover boundary in the middle of an incident. Where the existing server is not a good home for it, we will say so rather than crowding it on.

How is this different from Zapier or Make?

n8n can be self-hosted, which the other two cannot, and it is priced by execution rather than per task, which changes the maths at volume. It also asks more of whoever runs it. For a handful of simple automations the hosted platforms are usually the better answer and we will recommend them — see our Zapier and Make guides.

What happens when an upgrade or a provider API breaks a workflow?

That is the ongoing part of the arrangement rather than a surprise. We watch for it, test upgrades away from production, and fix what breaks. Nodes talking to third-party APIs are the usual casualty, because the API changed and nobody told anybody.
