Claude integration and automation
- We build with it
- We use it ourselves
Claude is the model we reach for when the job involves long documents, careful extraction, or work where being confidently wrong is expensive. We build it into applications and automations — and we use it ourselves every day, which is where most of what we know about it comes from.
The relationship
How we work with Claude
- Build
We build with it
We build Claude into applications and automations through the API: extraction and classification, assistants grounded in your own documents, and features inside software you already run — with a cost ceiling and a review step on anything consequential.
- In-house
We use it ourselves
We use it daily in our own work, so what we tell you about where it is strong and where it is not comes from running it in production rather than from a datasheet.

Claude problems we fix
You don’t need to know the technical name for it. Tell us what’s happening, and we’ll work out what needs attention.
-
“Long documents need reading, and the detail matters.”
This is where Claude earns its place. We build the intake, the extraction and the review step, and measure accuracy on your own documents before anybody relies on it.
-
“The API bill is unpredictable, or larger than expected.”
Usually the largest model doing work a smaller one handles fine, or whole documents being sent when an extract would do. We size the model to the task and cap every route that calls it.
-
“An assistant answers from the open web instead of your material.”
We ground it in your own documents and records, with access rules so it only answers from what that person could already read, and citations so an answer can be checked.
-
“You need to know what happens to the data you send.”
We put the account, the keys and the terms in writing before anything is built, including what is retained and what the terms say about training. Where that is not acceptable for the data in question, it rules the approach out.
-
“A model you built against has been retired or repriced.”
We keep the model choice changeable rather than welded in, so a provider’s change is a configuration change and not a rebuild.
-
“Your developers want to use it but nothing is standardised.”
We set up the shared patterns — prompts in version control, evaluations that catch a regression, and sensible limits — so it is engineering rather than everybody improvising.

Questions we get
Claude, answered plainly
Claude, OpenAI or Gemini?
Per workload rather than once per company. Claude is our usual pick for long documents, careful extraction and coding work. OpenAI has the broadest third-party integration. Gemini makes most sense where a business already lives inside Google Workspace. We keep the choice changeable so this is a decision you can revisit rather than a commitment.
Does our data get used for training?
Not under Anthropic’s commercial API terms, but we will not ask you to take our word for a third party’s policy — we put what the current terms say in writing before anything is built, and we tell you which of your data would leave your systems at all. Policies change; what does not change is that you get it stated up front.
How accurate is it on our documents?
We will not quote a figure for documents we have not seen, and anybody who does is guessing. We measure it on your own material during the build, agree what is good enough, and design the review step around what is left over.
Do you use it yourselves?
Daily, including in building and maintaining this site. That is the honest reason we can tell you where it is genuinely good and where it is oversold — we are not describing a demo.

Tell us what’s giving you trouble, or what you’d like to stop managing yourself. You don’t need a technical brief. A few sentences is a good place to start.
